not really spam i hope, just sending out compliments and friendly e-mails to friends. i find i get so much spam and rejection e-mails or sometimes cruel retorts from people that it would be great to receive regular positive e-mail. maybe it’s something one could sign up for. sorry i haven’t had any new ideas to share for ages. i’m surprised how fast time passes.

like bookcrossing.com but for poetry, esp small press stuff. you leave a chapbook, someone picks it up and leaves one for someone else. getting poetry into the hands of those who want to read it. for bookcrossing.com, the books are all registered with numbers etc. it could be like that or less organized.

people with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) are advised to find ways to be in the light. as someone who gets blue when having to put up with constant sunshine and blue sky, i would love it if there were a place, a room or something that simulates storms, rain, clouds etc. i’d also love winter rooms. summer might be a bit more bearable for those of us who suffer from this rainy version of SAD. i don’t know if there is anyone else that loathes the sun & bluesky as much as i do. perhaps not. i’m also much more creative in rainy, stormy weather or in winter than i am in summer where my brain turns to mush in the horrible heat.

i know these already exist, i’ve heard of them but have never been part of any group that has exchanged them. the idea is to make cards, much like baseball or hockey cards, except for poetry or other art forms and then trade them. i’d love to give out and receive them. any links to such would be very welcome or if you do them already.

have you ever attended a small press fair, collected a bunch of stuff & then had no bag to put it in? small press fair vendors, one thing you can do is to make bags by fusing old plastic bags…it’s really easy and doesn’t take too long. it’s a great way of reusing those non biodegradable bags and the resulting bag is pretty cool.
here’s a tutorial from Etsy.com:

this morning i wanted to find a list of novels with rain in them; at other times, i’ve wanted to find contemporary third person omniscient novels. when you google stuff like that, you often get a hodge podge of irrelevant info. i’d like to see a database where anyone could add info based on a list of categories both already on the site and new ones added by participants. a bit like wikipedia but for lists.

use your music playlist as a creativity generator. set it on shuffle. write what pops into your head based on the song that comes up.

for every role and every gender and every culture and every age to celebrate
not father’s day, not mother’s day, not senior’s day, not secretary’s day, not cat lover’s day…just…humans…as in, we all are.

you know how you make mix tapes (ok, now CDs/mp3s) for your pals? why not record sounds like thunder, rain, a river, the wind and give it to them? or start a stock sound archive like a stock photo archive. have others contribute and allow everyone to use sounds for freeeeeee.
